As a teacher, you give so much. Now is the time to take care of you. CARE for Teachers is a unique professional development program that helps you handle the stresses and rediscover the joys of teaching.
Developed by the Garrison Institute to meet the specific needs of K–12 teachers for social and emotional well-being, the tools and resources CARE provides are backed by scientific evidence, proven to reduce stress, prevent burnout, enliven teaching, and help you and your students thrive.
Christa Turksma and Adi Flesher at a CARE workshop which provides a blend of didactic, experiential, and interactive learning processes.Through a variety of enjoyable guided practices and self-assessments, intention setting, reflective writing, small and large group discussions, role plays, and short lectures, you will learn:
- Emotion skills instruction for building reliance and regulating emotional responses
- Mindfulness and stress-reduction practices to renew inner strength and balance the demands of your work and personal life
- Listening and compassion exercises to enhance well-being and promote greater life satisfaction.
In addition to learning lifelong skills for self-care, teachers who return their classroom after participating in the CARE program have greater sensitivity to their students, create classrooms that are more supportive and emotionally positive, and experience enhanced productivity.
