The Role of Mental Strengths in Developing Athletic and Academic Excellence
To consistently do something at the highest level, we must apply mental strengths and qualities of mind such as concentration, effort, mindfulness, and confidence. These qualities of mind enable us to gain the knowledge and wisdom to succeed. Sports Psychologist George Mumford will speak about how to utilize these mental strengths to develop athletic and academic excellence.
George T. Mumford is a Sports Psychology Consultant, Personal and Organizational Development Consultant, Executive Coach and a Teacher. As part of Phil Jackson’s support staff, he worked with the Los Angeles Lakers (1999-2003) and the Chicago Bulls (1993-1998). George will draw on his experience working with elite athletes, inner city populations, corporate executives and prison inmates to explore the mental strengths that create the foundation for excellence.
AME is a collaborative association of organizations and individuals working together to provide support for the growing interest in including mindfulness training as a component of K-12 education. We are committed to furthering training and research in this field.
